About The Position

This position is responsible for performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documenting, and calculating results accurately. The role involves taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, and identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming product. The technician will also report results to management and undertake any additional assignments requested. All team members are responsible for safety, including personal safety and food safety. This position operates in environments that can be hot and humid or cold and damp, with slippery surfaces.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in the Fresh Meats industry required or other QA type experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
