About The Position

The FSQ Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring finished product quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within the manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for product hold and release activities, quality systems administration, documentation control, net contents compliance, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The FSQ Specialist works closely with Quality, Operations, and Warehouse teams to identify, solve, and prevent quality-related issues while supporting food safety and quality management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing and/or laboratory experience within the food industry preferred (internship experience will be considered).
  • Strong understanding of food safety systems, HACCP principles, and food regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
  • Sound mathematical aptitude and foundational food science knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and food production environments.
  • Experience with SAP, particularly SAP QM, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, training, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage finished product hold and release activities, including review and disposition of held products and rework documentation.
  • Track and report non-conforming inventory and key departmental quality performance metrics.
  • Support traceability, withdrawal, and recall processes, including participation in traceability exercises.
  • Serve as the SAP QM Super User, supporting quality data management, inspection plans, release coordination, and master data maintenance.
  • Act as the Intelex Quality Super User, providing system expertise, training, and audit support.
  • Own document control processes, ensuring plant procedures and records meet corporate and audit requirements.
  • Support net contents compliance by maintaining systems, analyzing lot summary reports, and reporting results.
  • Oversee batch status activities and hold/release processes within warehouse management systems.
  • Conduct GMP, HACCP, procedural, and documentation audits on the production floor.
  • Provide coaching and training to team members while identifying opportunities for process improvements and supporting quality-related projects.
  • Maintain consumer complaint awareness and assist with sample shipments and special projects.
  • Support flexible operational requirements, including occasional coverage of off-shift activities when needed.
