About The Position

This role involves fabricating FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) pipe, polygons, and other accessories in accordance with quality standards. The operator will use a chopper gun and various tools and material handling equipment, performing tasks such as grinding, smoothing, patching, and installation. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance, as well as maintaining accurate labeling and inventory control. The position requires working in varying environmental conditions and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or industrial experience are required. Experience with fiberglass, composites, or layup techniques is preferred. The role emphasizes dependability, safety consciousness, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Physically able to meet job demands, including lifting, standing, and working in non-climate-controlled areas.

Responsibilities

  • Operate chopper gun in a manner consistent with Safe Work Practices.
  • Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner.
  • Participate in the maintaining of a healthy Safety Culture at the facility.
  • Follow instructions from operators and supervisors to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain accurate labeling, layout, and marking of parts and completed products and subcomponents.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance within the plant.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and teamwork on the production floor.
  • Fabricate FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) pipe, polygons, and other accessories in accordance with quality standards.
  • Operate a variety of tools and material handling equipment including grinders, utility knives, rotating molds, and forklifts.
  • Perform grinding, smoothing, patching, and installation tasks for seams, nozzles, manways, and other components.
  • Support layout and fitting of shells and parts per drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct measurements, visual inspections, and quality checks; report issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Control inventory and storage of fiberglass materials, rolls, and sheets.
  • Assist with part and product preparation for shipment.
  • Perform minor tool and equipment maintenance, cleaning tools and rollers regularly.
  • Apply product markings, stencils, and labels according to specifications.
  • Work in varying environmental conditions, including high noise and temperature extremes.
  • Lift/move materials and components as required (up to 50 lbs).
  • Wear a respirator for extended periods (8+ hours) as required by tasks.
