About The Position

The Frozen Food Manager is a primary contact for customers, providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This role directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. Responsibilities include training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks, managing stock and inventory, minimizing out-of-stock product, ordering, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the frozen food area and related storage. Key responsibilities include ensuring strong customer service, managing department operations to meet sales and profit goals, training and supervising staff, handling customer issues, performing inventory, ordering supplies, rotating stock, removing expired items, unloading deliveries, maintaining cleanliness, and potentially functioning as a cashier during peak times.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job.
Directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives.
Provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service as a primary contact for customers.
Trains, supervises, schedules, and assigns duties to Frozen Food Clerks.
Changes signs and prices as directed by merchandising.
Maintains appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area.
Minimizes out of stock product.
Writes frozen food order in the order guide book.
Checks order for completeness upon arrival.
Rotates product and removes expired stock daily.
Keeps frozen food cases stocked with product.
Cleans department area and restocks items in freezer for other departments.
Loads boards received from trucks onto pallets.
Takes pallets to the sales floor with a pallet jack and loads product into cases.
Breaks down cardboard boxes and places them in the bailer.
Checks and fills ice machine daily as needed.
Restocks end displays as per instructions.
Cleans any spills from leakage in cases or on department floor.
In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, removes all items, cleans out the case, and replaces or restocks product.
May function as cashier/checker during peak times.
Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays.
Make sure that all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
Unload boards and stack on pallets or six wheel carts.
Push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
Other duties as assigned.
