As a primary contact for customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This role involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks. The manager is responsible for changing signs and prices as directed by merchandising, maintaining appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area, and minimizing out-of-stock product. Key duties include writing frozen food orders, checking orders upon arrival, rotating product, and removing expired stock daily. The position requires keeping frozen food cases stocked, cleaning the department area, and restocking items in the freezer for other departments. Responsibilities also include loading received boards onto pallets, transporting pallets to the sales floor with a pallet jack, and loading product into cases. Breaking down cardboard boxes and placing them in the bailer, checking and filling the ice machine daily, and restocking end displays are also part of the role. The manager must clean any spills from leakage in cases or on the department floor. In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, the employee will remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product. The role may also involve functioning as a cashier/checker during peak times.
