About The Position

The Frozen Lead Position Purpose is to exemplify and ensure strong customer service in all aspects of the job. This role directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. As a primary contact for customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This role involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks. Responsibilities include changing signs and prices as directed by merchandising, maintaining appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area, and minimizing out-of-stock product. The Frozen Lead writes the frozen food order, checks it for completeness upon arrival, rotates product, and removes expired stock daily. They keep frozen food cases stocked, clean the department area, and restock items in the freezer for other departments. Boards received from trucks are loaded onto pallets, taken to the sales floor with a pallet jack, and product is loaded into cases. Cardboard boxes are broken down and placed in the bailer. The ice machine is checked daily and filled as needed. End displays are restocked as per instructions. The employee cleans any spills from leakage in cases or on the department floor. In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, the employee will remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product. This role may also function as a cashier/checker during peak times.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow company customer service procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
  • Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
  • Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
  • Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays.
  • Make sure that all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
  • Unload boards and stack on pallets or six wheel carts.
  • Push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
