About The Position

Performs all frozen food responsibilities while working with and reporting to the Grocery Manager. This role involves supervising and training personnel, maintaining product quality, stocking, rotating, and managing inventory for the frozen food department. The position also emphasizes customer service, sales techniques, and collaboration with the Grocery Manager on merchandise planning and special sales.

Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and pallet jacks.
Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods of time.
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
May need to climb ladders.
Mental alertness required for safe, accurate completion of work activities and to do repetitious work accurately.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Ability to learn inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures.
Ability to judge and react to business activity.
Compliance with all Company policies including attendance, grooming standards, and dress codes.

Responsibilities

Supervising and training frozen food department personnel.
Maintaining the quality condition of all frozen grocery products.
Stocking, rotating, and facing frozen food products.
Discarding out-of-code and spoiled frozen food products.
Maintaining the frozen food backroom.
Cleaning and maintaining shelves.
Assisting in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, and inventory control of frozen merchandise.
Building frozen food displays.
Encouraging and maintaining enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on safe, friendly, and courteous service.
Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Assisting the Grocery Manager in planning and organizing merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
Training, teaching, and coaching on dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
Assisting with "dry grocery" order writing.
Assisting with grocery stocking and conditioning.
Working on new items.
Assisting with the reclamation process.
Managing backroom inventory, conditions, and standards for the grocery department.
Assisting with grocery department merchandising and building displays.
