About The Position

The Frozen Foods Manager is responsible for leading the efficient, effective, safe, legal, and profitable operations of the Frozen Foods Department. This role involves coordinating human relations for the department, ensuring adherence to all company and department policies and procedures, and prioritizing guest relations and satisfaction by building a reputation for Ultimate Service.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a grocery or dairy department.
  • Ability to work the scheduled work shift as needed to meet the needs of the store guests and team members.
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner.
  • Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work within a freezer and/or fridge for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting at a height of 5 feet, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email).
  • Ability to work at a fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner.
  • Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.

  • Ability to receive phone calls at home.
  • Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must attend meetings, including out-of-town, requiring overnight stays.
  • Must be able to transfer to another store within the area.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the area or department.
  • Hiring, training, and performance management of team members.
  • Communication and information distribution to the entire department.
  • Maintaining a positive atmosphere, spirit, and morale within the department.
  • Demonstrating effective leadership skills by managing time and delegation.
  • Developing team members and future leaders utilizing available materials and systems.
  • Supporting and executing division concepts and programs.
  • Executing and meeting financial goals.
  • Identifying areas of opportunity throughout the store and within the department.
  • Ensuring quality and consistent product availability and solutions for guests.
  • Safeguarding, controlling, and monitoring all department assets, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented for control of assets.
  • Practicing safe work habits; maintaining a high level of store cleanliness, organization, and a safe work environment; encouraging team members to do the same.
  • Overseeing that department systems and processes are utilized consistently and correctly.
  • Directing meetings with the department leadership team to effectively plan production and promotion goals.
  • Verifying team member schedules against business needs.
  • Coaching and disciplining team members as necessary in accordance with policy and procedures with support from Talent Management.
  • Verifying all books and manuals are kept updated.
  • Overseeing inventory process and reporting.
  • Overseeing that Food Safety Procedures are adhered to.
  • Approving all purchase orders and maintaining adequate levels.
  • Maintaining stock levels, keeping shelves full of advertised merchandise and items in back stock.
  • Ensuring proper rotation procedures are enforced.
  • Making sure all tags are properly placed and in good condition.
  • Demonstrating good conflict management skills.
  • Performing other duties assigned by upper management.
