As a primary contact for customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This role involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks. The manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area, minimizing out-of-stock products, and writing frozen food orders. They will also check orders for completeness upon arrival, rotate product, and remove expired stock daily. The position requires keeping frozen food cases stocked, cleaning the department area, and restocking items in the freezer for other departments. Responsibilities include loading boards from trucks onto pallets, transporting pallets to the sales floor with a pallet jack, and loading product into cases. Cardboard boxes are to be broken down and placed in the bailer. The ice machine is checked and filled daily, and end displays are restocked as per instructions. The role also entails cleaning spills from leakage in cases or on the department floor. In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, the employee will remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product. The Frozen Food Manager may also function as a cashier/checker during peak times.
