About The Position

This position exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. The Frozen Food Manager directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. As a primary contact for customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This role involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks. The manager is responsible for changing signs and prices as directed by merchandising, maintaining appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area, and minimizing out-of-stock product. The role also includes writing frozen food orders, checking orders for completeness upon arrival, rotating product, and removing expired stock daily. Responsibilities extend to keeping frozen food cases stocked, cleaning the department area, restocking items in the freezer for other departments, loading received boards onto pallets, transporting pallets to the sales floor with a pallet jack, breaking down cardboard boxes for the bailer, checking and filling the ice machine daily, restocking end displays, and cleaning spills. In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, the employee will remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product. The position may also function as a cashier/checker during peak times.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
  • Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
  • Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
  • Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
  • Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
  • Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays.
  • Make sure that all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
  • Unload boards and stack on pallets or six wheel carts.
  • Push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
