About The Position

The Frozen Food/Dairy Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed and that department goals are met. This role contributes to store sales and profitability by effectively managing stock levels, inventory, and guest service within the Frozen Food & Dairy Department. Associates in this role showcase a wide variety of frozen and dairy products while upholding Hometown Grocers' high standards of guest service.

Requirements

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
Good oral and written communication skills
Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, power equipment

Responsibilities

Provides excellent services to all guests
Assists guests with supplying them with the items they need from the department
Aid guests in finding items they are looking for on the sales floor
Takes orders and special requests
Answer the telephone and assist guests using proper phone etiquette
Ten tiling guests at all times
Stocking and maintaining product levels
Fill all items on display
Makes sure products are rotated, using first in first out method
Follow display standards
Makes sure the sales floor is clean and tidy; no messes or spills
Maintains grocery supplies
Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
