CiscoSan Jose, NC
$183,800 - $263,600Hybrid

About The Position

The front-end engineering team within Cisco CX Engineering builds the user-facing platform that powers Cisco IQ, an enterprise-grade product that helps customers and partners track, manage, and derive insights from their Cisco install base. Our work spans multiple applications and shared UI frameworks that directly shape how network engineers and CISOs experience Cisco's digital ecosystem. We operate in a fast-moving agile environment and are actively reshaping how we build software, incorporating AI-assisted development, design tooling integrations, and intelligent code generation into our daily workflow. As a Software Engineering Technical Leader, you will define the technical direction for our Angular-based front-end platform, elevating the team through hands-on mentorship, architectural guidance, and a relentless focus on quality. You will own the end-to-end technical delivery of medium-to-large features—from design and architecture through to production—while partnering closely with UX, product management, and backend teams to ensure we are building the right solutions, the right way. You will lead the team’s adoption of AI-assisted development practices, establishing patterns and workflows that enhance team efficiency and long-term codebase maintainability. Your influence will extend beyond your immediate team as you contribute to shared component systems, shape our metadata-driven UI framework, and communicate architectural trade-offs and delivery decisions to cross-functional stakeholders. Success in this role is defined by a team that ships high-quality features with confidence, grows technically under your mentorship, and builds software that earns customer trust.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in a STEM field with 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience building production web applications with Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience architecting and delivering large-scale web applications or multi-team front-end features.
  • Experience in front-end architecture principles, including component-based design, state management, performance optimization, and design system integration.
  • Experience with signals-based reactivity in Angular, including NgRx Signals, for scalable and performant state management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or contributing to metadata- or configuration-driven UI frameworks that decouple data structures from presentation. You bring a "platform-as-a-product" mindset to the development of reusable, composable front-end systems that empower multiple product teams.
  • Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) into engineering workflows to improve team velocity and code quality.
  • Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews and design feedback.
  • Experience designing or working within Micro Front End (MFE) architectures, including module federation, independent deployment strategies, and cross-team component integration.
  • Recognized community expertise in Angular, such as Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Angular or equivalent demonstrated thought leadership (conference talks, open source contributions, publications).
