About The Position

East Coast Golf Management, Inc. (ECG), is hiring a full-time Front of House Supervisor/Bartender/Server at International Golf Course in Murrells Inlet, SC! This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the servers on the floor at certain times, ensuring that they run smoothly and efficiently and closing the food and beverage outlet at night. They will work closely with the servers, lead server and the management team to ensure that their needs are met and that guests have an exceptional experience. When Bartending, this position is responsible for mixing and serving drinks to owners and guests, as well as delivering exceptional food and beverage services in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with our established policies and procedures. When working as a server, serve guests by providing courteous and efficient service that meets are exceeds the guests dining expectations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of applicable local alcohol laws
  • TIPS Certification or ability to obtain Certification within first 30 days
  • Comparable alcohol education course may be substituted
  • Must meet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages.
  • At least one year of experience in a lead role.
  • Experience using a POS system is required.
  • One year of bartending and/or food and beverage experience
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe certification is a plus
  • Degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus but not required
  • Experience with Lightspeed POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus.
  • Experience in resort or golf course settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with fellow servers ensuring tickets are entered in correctly
  • Assist in training new servers and adhere to company standards
  • Ensuring that all guests are served in a timely and efficient manner
  • Communicate with the kitchen, checking on ticket times
  • Ensure all deposits are balanced by the lead server at the end of each shift
  • Assist with any guest concerns or issues that may arise during a shift
  • Maintain a clean and organized server area
  • Ensure the food and beverage outlet (Sunset Prime, 55 Bistro, Sunset Tiki) is closed properly and locked up at night.
  • Participate in a team environment that promotes sales and service success.
  • Actively participate in all restaurant-related meetings and training sessions, and apply learned skills on the job.
  • Be receptive to feedback and coaching.
  • Possess complete knowledge of all food and beverage menus – including specials, ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
  • Possess knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Possess complete knowledge and application of all Hospitality Standards, including sanitation guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Balance excellent service between bar-top guests and the service well, and fill orders with precision.
  • Practice proper cash-handling, and accurately record all sales of food and beverages while working.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for all team members and guests.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, while organizing and preparing for your shift.
  • Maintain proper stock levels (including inventory control and ordering) of perishables and spirits according to projected business.
  • Properly store and rotate all products.
  • Handle equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies, and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and managers.
  • Assist in the training of new employees.
  • Help radiate positivity to ensure guest satisfaction at all times.
  • Welcome and greet all new and returning guests, using the guest’s name whenever possible. Also provide a sincere farewell to any guests leaving.
  • Verify proper government-issued identification of guests when alcohol is ordered as required by state and federal law.
  • Adhere to company, division, and location policies and procedures.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
  • Supports a strong commitment to provide excellent guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for snack bar patrons.
  • Completes training requirements and follows service standards as trained.
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously.
  • Understands and executes established procedures for verifying guest’s ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from overindulging.
  • Learn all menus and can communicate all food and beverage offerings.
  • Prepare guest orders as needed, to include sandwiches, hot dogs, etc.
  • Effectively uses suggestive selling techniques while taking guest orders.
  • Records and prepares food and beverage orders, enters orders into the computer system, and safely delivers orders to guests.
  • Monitors and addresses guest needs during meal.
  • Collects monies owed for food and beverages and properly performs all guest check accountability procedures.
  • Performs tip declaration activities
  • Performs daily cleaning activities, and all open and closing checklist items as may be appropriate with your assigned shift.
  • Performs food running and station set-up / break-down responsibilities as assigned.
  • Flexibility with work schedule and availability to meet business demands.
  • Follow all health department rules and regulations for food prep and sanitation requirements
  • Provide your own cash bank (suggested amount $100-$150 in change and small bills)
  • Other duties as assigned.
