About The Position

The role is for an enthusiastic Front of House Manager who enjoys coaching and developing a highly motivated, diverse staff. The manager will also participate in the planning, forecasting, and continuous improvement processes of a world-renowned business. This position is ideal for someone energized by providing excellent guest service and skilled in training, teaching, and giving feedback.

Requirements

  • Has a blast at work, and makes sure everyone else does, too
  • Continuously learns and grows, and asks for help when needed
  • Excites and motivates staff to sell great food
  • Has at least three years of management experience, preferably in the restaurant industry
  • Has experience in forecasting sales and costs
  • Loves to sell and has a proven track record in sales
  • Has excellent follow-through skills
  • Is goal-oriented, organized, and able to manage in a fast-paced environment
  • Is self-directed and can work independently, as well as be an integral member of the management team
  • Is able to reflect on feedback and keep open to improve in every way, every day
  • Provides leadership that inspires teamwork and drives results
  • An outgoing personality who can create and build energy around them
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable making decisions and problem-solving
  • High level of interest in learning about food, people, and business
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and embraces diversity in people and groups
  • Genuinely cares about giving great service to guests and staff

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and maintains all staff and production areas to ensure a safe, sanitary, and positively motivated workplace
  • Works with all Delicatessen managers as a team to ensure staff and guests have an amazing Zingerman's experience
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for directing the energy, sales, and service focus of every shift they work
  • Delivers performance feedback in a direct and caring way
  • Knows regulars by name and knows their preferences
  • Ensures all shift checklists are completed
  • Engages staff and encourages professional and personal development
  • Passes all position training requirements required of front-of-house staff within 6 months
  • Models and embraces a culture of continuous improvement
