Front Load Driver
About The Position
Waste Connections is hiring a Front Load Garbage Truck Driver at its site in Haltom City, Texas. The driver services commercial customers using a front-load garbage truck. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 4 a.m. start and an approximately 11-hour workday. Occasional Saturdays may be required, and overtime is often available. The role involves route-based driving, vehicle inspections, customer interaction, and physically demanding work that may be performed without helpers. The position pays $25.00–$27.00, depending on experience. Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with an air brake endorsement.
- Clean driving record.
- Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws.
- Ability to work 50–55 hours per week.
- Schedule flexibility for Monday through Friday work and occasional Saturdays; Sundays are not required.
- Willingness to undergo and pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments.
- Ability to work in a wide range of environments and withstand exposure to weather conditions including rain, heat, sun, and cold.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or maneuver up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times each day while on route.
Responsibilities
- Read route tablets or sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip DOT vehicle inspections, including checks of fluids, safety equipment, lights, and tire pressure.
- Perform physically demanding work, including loading and unloading, sometimes without helpers.
- Interact courteously with customers.
- Complete other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
