About The Position

The Front Line Leader will be responsible for assigning, managing and directing the daily manufacturing activities of up to 25 union covered employees within their assigned area to attain economy of operations, maximize throughput, and ensure profitable production of parts. This role will be an integral part of the team, helping execute day-to-day operations within the Drive Systems Center, supporting a team that’s building transmissions and gearboxes. Requirements

5 years of manufacturing, assembly, or military experience preferred
Must be an empowering team leader, that encourages growth and development
B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or equivalent experience is preferred; in lieu of degree, 5 years’ experience in related field

Responsibilities

Assigning, managing and directing the daily manufacturing activities of up to 25 union covered employees within their assigned area to attain economy of operations, maximize throughput, and ensure profitable production of parts.
Work with Process Engineering and Quality to identify process improvement opportunities that improve overall efficiency, while reducing defects that lead to scrap and rework.
Oversee safe and efficient assembly operations.
Conduct disciplines of employees when necessary.
Manage in accordance with the local production union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Provide metrics driven accountability for performance: Earned hours, efficiency, schedule, overhead, and overtime charges.
Achieve objectives in a matrix work environment and work effectively with multiple functions (such as Supply Chain, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Quality, etc.).
