About The Position

The Front End Supervisor assists the Front-End Manager in providing friendly, fast, and accurate customer service. This role is responsible for accurate cash handling, maintaining store cleanliness, ensuring store security, and handling day-to-day communications and training, all while upholding Personnel Policies. The position is classified as Pay Level III.

Responsibilities

  • Treat people fairly, consistently, and with respect to encourage repeat business.
  • Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards.
  • Ensure customer flow through registers by opening an appropriate number of lanes based on service demands.
  • Provide product information and educational materials to customers.
  • Exceed customer expectations when resolving complaints.
  • Ensure the music creates a pleasant customer experience.
  • Maintain a fully stocked and organized customer service desk.
  • Handle returns and pass pertinent information to Department Managers regarding questionable products.
  • Supervise the cashier department on a day-to-day basis, ensuring fast, accurate, and friendly checkout.
  • Arrange to fill cashier schedule gaps due to emergencies and sick calls.
  • Troubleshoot and fix register breakdowns as needed.
  • Provide refresher trainings, ongoing membership training, and procedural updates to cashiers.
  • Ensure adequate levels of front-end supplies at the registers.
  • Assist the Front End Manager in ensuring cashiers are aware of all store policy and procedure changes affecting cashiering.
  • Ensure the security of all cash through registers.
  • Assist with cash count duties (drops, deposit, counting registers, coin drawers, armored service).
  • Coordinate tasks and projects for cashiers during non-customer checkout periods.
  • Maintain standards for cleanliness and organization of the register area and common areas (bathrooms, maintenance area, floors, break room, offices).
  • Set and assign cleaning/maintenance projects for the day.
  • Maintain a clean outside property including parking lot, patio, and sidewalks.
  • Organize, retrieve, and clean carts; maintain a clean vestibule and hand baskets.
  • Clean up spills as needed throughout the store.
  • Operate the floor machine as necessary.
  • Responsible for the behaviors, safety, and security of all supervised staff.
  • Record tardiness, sick calls, or any misconduct; counsel according to established procedures and recommend disciplinary actions.
  • Participate in hiring and performance evaluations of cashiers as requested.
  • Use motivation and encouragement in supervising staff; continue to learn and develop management skills.
  • Manage staff using the Employee Handbook and Personnel Policies.
  • Trained in opening and closing of the store.
  • Trained in all security procedures.
  • Answer and route phone calls, take and route messages as needed.
  • Perform other tasks assigned or delegated by the Front End Manager and Store Manager.
