The Global PACCAR Electronics organization supports Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF by transforming how control systems and vehicle software are developed for commercial vehicle applications. PACCAR’s Electronics and Digital Solutions department has an opening for a Front End Software Developer. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of modern, user-focused web applications that support PACCAR’s vehicle technologies, engineering systems, and digital platforms. This role will be responsible for creating intuitive, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces while collaborating closely with back-end developers, UX designers, product owners, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will translate business and technical requirements into engaging, reliable software solutions that enhance PACCAR’s digital capabilities and drive innovation across commercial vehicle technologies.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree required
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • Experience developing front-end applications using modern KANZI / QT / Candera frameworks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, and project tracking abilities.
  • Competency with standard business software tools and software development platforms.
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and development methodologies.
  • Commitment to quality, reliability, performance, and user experience in all aspects of software development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with state management solutions, component-based architectures, and front-end performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design principles, accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and modern software engineering practices.
  • Experience developing enterprise-scale web applications and digital customer-facing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web applications using modern front-end technologies and frameworks.
  • Define and implement front-end architecture, component structures, coding standards, and application design patterns.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to transform wireframes and mockups into high-quality user experiences.
  • Communicate application functionality, technical design decisions, and project progress to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Follow software development lifecycle and project management processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality.
  • Work closely with back-end developers to integrate APIs, services, and data sources into front-end applications.
  • Ensure industry-leading quality, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainability across all software solutions.
  • Participate in testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects and production issues.
  • Support application deployments, user acceptance testing, and post-launch issue resolution as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software engineers, systems engineers, product managers, and business analysts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, coding best practices, and development standards.
