About The Position

The Front-End Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities of the Front-end and its staff. Responsibilities include; but are not limited to, planning, assigning, and directing work; staff development, performance reviews, scheduled writing, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Other duties may be assigned: Required to perform all essential duties of the front-end. Responsible for the training and overall development of employees working in the front-end department; maintains “Need to Know” folder Responsible for consistency and implementation of all programs. Including Customer service training. Manages costs by controlling hours on the front-end and supply costs; monitoring shrink, and theft. Ensures that schedule writing is done fairly and objectively to drive the needs of the business; and properly managed through execution of the Front-End Lines Ensure Self checkouts are operational, open and staffed during business hours. Responsible for controlling labor results, including overtime as directed by the Store Director. Follows and implements correct accounting procedures for all voids, returns, exchanges, & department transfers. Performs cash register audits as required & reports results to Manager of Service Ensures that all opening and closing procedures are performed accurately. Procedures include but are not limited to; auditing safe; assuring equipment is in good, working order; stocking check stand area with retail/impulse products, paper bags, register receipt tape, etc.; setting up individual daily schedules, setting up all audit sheets. Responsible for accurate counting, balancing, and securing of change drawer, safe, assigned cash register; and “pick-ups” & “loans” made to cashier's registers.Responsible for keeping the front-end clean and tidy; manages “go-backs”Required to keep front end area neat, clean, & organized. Required to maintain parking lot clean with shopping carts in corrals Assures all front-end equipment is in good working order; arranges for all equipment to be fixed and cleaned in a timely manner. Maintains inventory on front-end merchandisers including, receiving, stocking, and merchandising.Listens to customer complaints and addresses them, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. Availability requirements include but are not limited to; days, evenings, weekends and holidays.   • Act as a designated "rescue" shopper for Amazon.
  • Manage the Lost and Found Log.
  • Maintain the Emergency Procedures folder.
