Responsibilities

  • Supervision and coordination of activities of the Front-end and its staff.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Staff development, performance reviews, scheduled writing, rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Perform all essential duties of the front-end.
  • Training and overall development of employees working in the front-end department; maintains “Need to Know” folder.
  • Ensuring consistency and implementation of all programs, including Customer service training.
  • Managing costs by controlling hours on the front-end and supply costs; monitoring shrink, and theft.
  • Ensuring that schedule writing is done fairly and objectively to drive the needs of the business; and properly managed through execution of the Front-End Lines.
  • Ensuring Self checkouts are operational, open and staffed during business hours.
  • Controlling labor results, including overtime as directed by the Store Director.
  • Following and implementing correct accounting procedures for all voids, returns, exchanges, & department transfers.
  • Performing cash register audits as required & reports results to Manager of Service.
  • Ensuring that all opening and closing procedures are performed accurately. Procedures include but are not limited to; auditing safe; assuring equipment is in good, working order; stocking check stand area with retail/impulse products, paper bags, register receipt tape, etc.; setting up individual daily schedules, setting up all audit sheets.
  • Accurate counting, balancing, and securing of change drawer, safe, assigned cash register; and “pick-ups” & “loans” made to cashier's registers.
  • Keeping the front-end clean and tidy; manages “go-backs”.
  • Keeping front end area neat, clean, & organized.
  • Maintaining parking lot clean with shopping carts in corrals.
  • Assuring all front-end equipment is in good working order; arranges for all equipment to be fixed and cleaned in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining inventory on front-end merchandisers including, receiving, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Listening to customer complaints and addressing them, examining returned merchandise, and resolving problems to restore and promote good public relations.
  • Designated “rescue” shopper for Amazon.
  • Auditing Lost and found Log.
  • Maintaining Emergency Procedures folder.
  • Managing Produce and Deli Code Tests.
