Summerhill Market is a Toronto boutique grocer known for scratch-made prepared foods, freshly baked treats, and on-trend ingredients. They are looking for an experienced Front End Manager to lead front-end operations and inspire a team that delivers exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and takes pride in creating an outstanding customer experience.

Requirements

Previous leadership experience in grocery, retail, or a high-volume customer service environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience with cash management, scheduling, and front-end operations is preferred

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop the front-end team, including Cashiers and Front End Supervisors
Foster a positive, customer-first culture that delivers exceptional service on every interaction
Oversee daily front-end operations, ensuring efficient checkout flow and excellent customer experiences
Manage scheduling, labour, and staffing levels to meet business needs
Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor new team members
Monitor cash handling procedures, till balancing, and POS compliance
Resolve customer concerns professionally and confidently while maintaining a positive shopping experience
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-end environment
Partner with Store Leadership to achieve operational, service, and financial goals
Ensure company policies, food safety, health & safety, and loss prevention procedures are consistently followed
