About The Position

DecisionPoint seeks a Front End Developer with strong Oracle Application Express (APEX) expertise to design, develop, enhance, and maintain web-based applications in a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. The role focuses on building intuitive, responsive, accessible, and maintainable user interfaces using Oracle APEX, with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, PL/SQL, REST APIs, and Oracle database-driven applications. The developer will work closely with backend developers, database specialists, UX and design personnel, product owners, and other development team members. This position is fully remote. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience building and enhancing Oracle APEX applications, rather than only administering or supporting existing applications. The role participates throughout the application lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, releases, troubleshooting, production support, and documentation. Accessibility and usability, including applicable Section 508 requirements for federal digital services, are incorporated into the development process.

  • Experience working as part of a cross-functional software development team.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including requirements, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and front-end development and user-interface design skills.
  • Ability to translate business and functional requirements into effective application interfaces.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams and government stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple development activities and priorities in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Ability to document technical solutions clearly and maintain development documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related technical discipline; relevant professional development experience may be considered in place of a degree when permitted by contract requirements.

  • Work with UX and content personnel to implement a consistent user experience, and participate in peer reviews and front-end standards development.
  • Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL needed to support APEX application functionality.
  • Integrate APEX applications with application data, business logic, enterprise systems, RESTful APIs, and web services.
