About The Position

This placement opportunity includes several departments and positions within the Rooms Division, focusing on guest services and operational efficiency. The initial phase involves an Orientation period of up to one month, covering company culture, payroll, local resources, and computer systems. Following orientation, the role of Front Desk Agent for 4 months will focus on guest check-in/check-out, loyalty programs, financial transactions, and resolving guest concerns. The Guest Services Agent role, also for 4 months, will concentrate on VIP services, special needs, guest database management, and inter-departmental coordination. Finally, the Housekeeping Inspector role for 3.5 months will involve inspecting rooms and public areas, managing daily cleaning activities, overseeing reports, inventory control, and inter-departmental communication regarding room availability.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry
  • OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA)
  • OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
  • Shown consistent career growth over the last years
  • Shown serious commitment to most recent employers

Responsibilities

  • Receive orientation to the company and local community, including learning about customers, culture, and business strategies.
  • Learn about payroll schedules and payroll tax withholding.
  • Gain knowledge of local training areas, housing options, apartment complexes, and transportation options.
  • Meet key contacts and other employees.
  • Receive computer training on company systems.
  • Learn the front desk computer system.
  • Master check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Promote the Preferred Guest Program.
  • Handle cashier responsibilities, including maintaining a house bank and making accurate daily deposits and reports.
  • Manage group arrivals procedures, guest room assignment, and control.
  • Understand and execute walk-over procedures.
  • Perform hourly house counts.
  • Implement sell-out controls and room key controls.
  • Utilize room up-selling techniques.
  • Resolve guest concerns.
  • Prepare for VIP arrivals, assign amenities, and process special needs.
  • Contact top clients before arrival.
  • Inspect rooms and suites for VIPs/repeat guests before arrival.
  • Act as the liaison between guests and operating departments.
  • Maintain and update the hotel guests database.
  • Escort arriving VIPs/repeat guests to their rooms and provide hotel tours upon check-in.
  • Provide the highest standard of service.
  • Handle VIP complaints efficiently.
  • Coordinate teamwork with other departments.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public spaces to ensure compliance with all standards.
  • Coordinate all daily activities to clean guest rooms and public areas.
  • Manage and communicate updates to the housekeeping boards.
  • Communicate with the supervisor on room issues, supply needs, and other pertinent information.
  • Manage and oversee the daily housekeeping report.
  • Assist Housekeeping Supervisors and Managers with projects.
  • Assist the supervisory with department inventory control.
  • Communicate with other departments when guest rooms are available for guest arrival.
