Our comprehensive and integrated 24/7 programs are designed to offer the holistic care our clients need. With a staff of 950+ and an annual budget of $120 million, Project Renewal is one of the larger social service nonprofits in New York City. Title: Front Desk Supervisor Program: Bedford Green House Salary Range: $43,000-$45,000 annually Program Description: Project Renewal’s Bedford Green House provides housing and supportive services for single adults diagnosed with a mental disorder and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Bedford Green House also consists of families with children, in which the head of household requires support due to an SMI or who are SMI with a co-occurring substance use disorder. Tenants are offered a comprehensive array of services that are funded by Human Resources Administration (HRA), and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). Bedford Green House is a 24/7 facility equipped with a community room, laundry area and community kitchen.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of one year of experience working within a non-profit, private or government organization providing services to a target population which includes but is not limited to the formerly homeless, mentally ill, substance use, HIV/AIDS, criminal justice, and LGBTQIA+.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other staff in order to serve the needs of the clients as effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Ability to work independently and to adjust one’s schedule to accommodate the needs of the clients.
  • Excellent oral, written, and listening skills.
  • Ability to effectively role-model socially appropriate behavior; and to treat residents and coworkers with respect and help to create a warm, supportive environment; and to work effectively with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Provides training for newly hired Front Desk staff, informing them of all policies and procedures as outlined in the front desk manual
  • Responsible for inventory of office supplies and miscellaneous items
  • Ensures that front desk staff are dressed appropriately and have PRI ID displayed
  • Ensures that front desk staff are trained in Narcan administration and other trainings based on needs.
  • Consistently review front desk binders for up to date and accurate documentation
  • Assist with administrative duties and day-to-day activities such as answering phone calls, documenting incidents, and documenting logbook entries.
  • Assist with facility house runs, ensuring building is secure
  • Communicate effectively with staff and participate in team meetings
  • Responsible for providing front desk coverage and updating weekly front desk schedules
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to be on call during non-clinical hours as necessary for front desk staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director and or Clinical Director
