About The Position

Walker Hotel Greenwich Village is seeking a Front Desk Supervisor to join their team. This role involves assisting the Front Desk Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Front Desk, including scheduling, training, and daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to manage a team, and a professional demeanor when handling guest reservations and complaints. The Front Desk Supervisor will ensure the front desk operates efficiently, maintain clean and organized front office areas, and collaborate with other hotel departments to meet guest needs. This position requires the ability to follow instructions, provide training and coaching, and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately. The role also involves attending meetings, maintaining guest records, and working overnight relief shifts.

Requirements

  • Over 2+ years of Hotel Front-Desk experience is a MUST.
  • Able to follow instructions and procedures with the ability to take direction from superiors.
  • Able to supervise staff, including assigning duties, providing training and coaching when needed.
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft office and other relevant computer systems.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ Years of hospitality experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with OPERA or OPERA CLOUD is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling, training, and daily operations of the Front Desk.
  • Oversee a team of employees.
  • Handle guest reservations and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that the front desk operates efficiently and effectively by monitoring guest check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments within the hotel to ensure guest needs are met.
  • Ensure that all front office areas are clean, organized and well maintained.
  • Effectively communicate and report details to management.
  • Motivate, Train, and coach new front desk staff.
  • Resolve any guest billing discrepancies.
  • Attend meetings to discuss guest needs and front desk operations.
  • Make sure all guest inquiries, questions, and/or concerns are properly taken care of.
  • Oversee the scheduling of employees, making sure all shifts are filled as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of guest information and room assignments.
