About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking a Front Desk Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the front desk. This role involves hiring and training new personnel, scheduling, ensuring superior guest service, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining budget and Powdr standards. The position is year-round and full-time, with varying days and hours. The Front Desk Supervisor will act as a leader, setting an example for excellent guest service and coaching reporting agents. They will also be responsible for maintaining front desk supplies, promoting teamwork, and ensuring smooth shift transitions. This role requires a professional image and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations, functioning as an ambassador for Copper Mountain.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to be alert and focused for all shifts between the hours of 7 am and 11 pm.
  • A criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s license.
  • Industry knowledge and 2 years in Front Desk, Reservations, Guest Service or Hospitality position required.
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 year college degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with Visual One, Inntopia, RTP, Timesaver, Ving Vision or Guestware is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Copper Mountain and its lodging is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all front desk clerk duties including guest check-in/out, handling guest billing, making reservations, using Lodging Computer menus, providing information on guest activities, and handling all monies.
  • Address and resolve guest issues in a timely manner.
  • Train new agents in front desk duties.
  • Oversee bell staff in the absence of the bell captain.
  • Perform bell calls in the absence of a bellman.
  • Cover Night Audit when needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and surrounding building, which may include cleaning, trash removal, or snow shoveling.
  • Promote a sales culture by teaching upselling techniques and creating opportunities for product sales at the front desk.
  • Delegate tasks to ensure all duties are completed on each shift, including managing group resumes, preparing for group arrivals/departures, posting, researching, and organizing.
  • Maintain front desk supplies at par levels.
  • Promote teamwork and address employee and guest issues before referring them to a manager.
  • Pass on information to the next shift to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Verify time cards and employee timelines.
  • Verify accurate counts for all cash banks once per shift.
  • Utilize and complete the Supervisor checklist.
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts with other lodging departments.
  • Ensure all staff on shift have clean and presentable uniforms and are properly groomed.
  • Attend group resume and pre-con meetings as a representative of the Front Desk.
  • Perform regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to coach and provide feedback.
  • Address employee issues as they arise, including corrective actions.
  • Assist with dispatching radio calls to other departments in a timely, professional manner.
  • Create and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships.
  • Complete the daily tasks checklist on each shift in a timely manner.
  • Lead by example by delivering excellent guest service and coaching reporting agents.
  • Functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture” with guests and employees.
  • Uphold the most professional image.
  • Continually strive to exceed guest expectations and create memories for guests and staff.
  • Participate in the company’s Front Line Assist program to assist in operations as needed.
  • Participate in Leadership events such as meetings, required trainings, and employee dinners/events.
  • Responsible for Front Desk staff and all Lodging guests.
