About The Position

Responsible for ensuring that providers, Imaging clinical staff, outside clients, patients, and all other customers receive superior customer service. Courteously interacts with ARS Radiology Services, patients, physician offices, hospitals and staff to confirm appointments, prepare patient for testing and gather medical records including medical screening prior to appointments. Upload pre-surgical/pre-procedure images and any prior imaging for testing/procedures/surgery. Obtain and upload comparison images from outside facilities. Assist Imaging Techs in escorting patients to/from imaging area, filing, phone triage, scheduling patients, support for technical staff in and around imaging studies and other duties as requested: assist with duties as they relate to department workflow efficiencies. Serve as order liaison for any new or missing orders, following up with ordering physician offices to obtain additional information, testing or orders up to the day of the procedure/exam. May perform other administrative duties as assigned to ensure efficient services and working relationships with other MyMichigan Health departments, affiliates and external departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Competency in Microsoft Windows
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as primary call center for Imaging; resolving/delegating calls as appropriate.
  • Sets up MRI, Ultrasound, CT and PET prep by contacting patients.
  • Works directly with Advanced Radiology System (ARS) helpdesk to resolve issues related to imaging studies.
  • Assist imaging techs in escorting patients to/from imaging area, support for technical staff in and around imaging studies and other duties as requested: assist with duties as they relate to department workflow efficiencies.
  • Participates in patient/chart preparation for imaging testing.
  • Understands and utilizes Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Assists customers with the use of equipment for locating specific images and for image viewing.
  • Tracks and uploads comparison studies into PACS and ARS Clario for interpretation.
  • Utilizes NucTrac for prostate specific PET ordering.
  • Coordinates with physician offices for Vanguard MRI cases, PMSA PET & MRI safety clearance.
  • Monitor and manage hydration work queue.
