About The Position

The Receptionist role is responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a back office setting. This position performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care and other back office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Teamwork
  • Comfortable working in fast paced environment
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • CPT codes and ICD-10 coding

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year customer service experience in a medical office environment
  • Proficient with computer skills including experience with practice management software

Responsibilities

  • Answer the telephone and handle calls in a timely and friendly manner including appropriate documentation of the call
  • All pre visit chart prep
  • Obtains insurance authorization and verifies coverage prior to patients appointment, notifies patient of the current status
  • Manage all out going referrals
  • Work effectively with office lead
  • Communicate with physician’s staff to insure quality of care
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures (HIPAA-OSHA)
  • Other duties as assigned
