About The Position

The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the welcoming presence of Emmanuel Christian School and helps create a warm, organized, Christ-centered environment for students, families, staff, and visitors. This role is responsible for managing the daily flow of the front office while supporting communication, hospitality, student needs, and administrative systems. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys serving people, thrives in a structured but relational environment, values consistency and stability, and desires to become a long-term part of the ECS community. The position is a 10-month school-year position with typical hours aligned with school operations. Limited summer hours may occasionally be requested for training or beginning/end-of-year preparation.

Requirements

  • Prior administrative or customer service experience
  • School office experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with email, Google Workspace, and basic office technology
  • Ability to learn school systems such as FACTS and internal communication tools
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the school day
  • Ability to multitask in a school office environment
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  • Is warm, dependable, and relational
  • Communicates clearly and kindly
  • Enjoys helping people

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist parents, visitors, students, and staff
  • Create a warm, calm, and organized front office atmosphere
  • Manage visitor check-in and school security procedures
  • Answer phones and respond to general office inquiries
  • Assist families with general questions
  • Assist students arriving late or leaving early
  • Help manage student sign-in/sign-out procedures
  • Communicate student needs to teachers and staff
  • Support the nurse and administration when needed
  • Help students feel known, cared for, and safe
  • Organize and distribute incoming mail and deliveries
  • Maintain organized front office systems and files
  • Help maintain calendars, announcements, and front office materials
  • Assist with attendance tracking and parent communication
  • Support daily operational flow during arrival and dismissal
  • Help maintain accurate student records and office documentation
  • Monitor front office supplies and organizational needs
  • Assist with school events and hospitality needs
  • Help welcome prospective families during tours or events
  • Support volunteer coordination as needed
  • Help create a positive family experience throughout the school year
  • Help with kiosk check-in
  • Welcoming families and visitors
