About The Position

We’re hiring a full-time Front Desk Receptionist to join our Knoxville Dermatology Group in Knoxville, TN. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills who is interested in working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Front Desk Receptionist, responsibilities will include checking patients in and out, verifying and updating insurance and personal information, scheduling and confirming appointments, collecting copays, and supporting daily office operations to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts Hours: Between 7 AM - 5 PM + 1 hour lunch Spanish-speaking applicants are preferred. Why join Anne Arundel Dermatology? Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of recent customer service experience required (retail, hospitality, or healthcare welcome)
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality standards
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills required
  • Ability to travel to nearby offices as needed for coverage
  • Prolonged sitting with occasional standing, walking, stooping, and reaching
  • Manual dexterity required for computer and phone use
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Vision and hearing sufficient for computer work and phone communication

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist or Front Desk in a medical office preferred
  • Prior experience in dermatology or a specialty clinic setting preferred, but not required
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
  • Proficient with multi-line phone systems and standard office equipment (computer, fax, copier, scanner)
  • Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting copays and balances
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments and referrals
  • Answer and screen incoming calls, take accurate messages, and route appropriately
  • Enter and update patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records in the system
  • Review patient charts to ensure all required information, documentation, and signatures are complete
  • Track patient flow in the reception area and communicate updates to clinical staff
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and managing incoming correspondence
  • Maintain and update office and product inventory, including placing supply orders as needed
  • Run end-of-day reports and assist with balancing daily payments
  • Provide support to clinical and administrative team members as needed to ensure smooth office operations
  • Deliver excellent customer service by treating all patients with professionalism, empathy, and respect
