About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support for department. Answers incoming phone calls; assist the public; processes data, documents and reports; and other duties as assigned by the Recreation Manager.

Requirements

  • High School graduation or GED
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Knowledge of secretarial and office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Knowledge of organization, procedures, and operating details of the City
  • Knowledge of City government organization, functions, policies, principles, rules, and regulations
  • Skilled in office management duties
  • Skilled in data entry
  • Skilled in handling multiple tasks with interruptions
  • Skilled in prioritizing and organizing workload
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Ability to maintain documents
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and explain rules and regulations
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism
