About The Position

The Front Desk Gym team member is responsible for representing the Athletic Club’s service commitment to members and guests. This position assists all guests and members efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all athletic club related functions and maintains a high standard of service and hospitality at all times. This position operates in a fast-paced hotel or resort environment requiring an active leadership presence in guest-facing areas. Work involves frequent interaction with team members, hotel guests, and athletic club members, and oversight of the club’s front desk operations. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, a positive attitude, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least 2+ years of previous, related experience working in sales, cash handling, or a gym/facility preferred.
  • No travel required other than occasional pickup of locally sourced materials; position is property-based.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and use of gross motor skills.
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of tools and equipment requiring fine motor skills.
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including mechanical rooms.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally.
  • Capability of performing the tasks assigned to and expected of the Front Desk Gym team.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with and operate all office equipment.
  • Current Adult & Child CPR/AED certificates required, must be renewed annually.

Responsibilities

  • Support guest satisfaction by maintaining a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to members, prospective members, and guests.
  • Promote a service-oriented culture within the Athletic Club team.
  • Maintain presence at the front desk and/or the gym floor and assist members and guests with questions and concerns as needed.
  • Keep the facility neat, clean, and stocked of all needed supplies.
  • Maintain knowledge of all membership information, promotions, and facility related information and updates.
  • Assist with selling and promoting memberships to meet required sales goals.
  • Provide tours to prospective or new members and hotel guests as needed.
  • Schedule appointments with instructors during each membership sale.
