About The Position

This is a part-time job opening for a Front Desk/Guest Services Representative with multiple facilities and various shifts available. The role involves providing quality customer service, interacting with the public and staff, performing program registrations, reserving rooms, handling mail, and providing clerical support. Additional duties include informing participants of cancellations, handling cash transactions, data entry, filing, assisting with special events, and other assigned duties. This is an at-will position.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service and/or office experience required.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff and the public both verbally and in writing.
  • Solid computer and keyboard skills required with the aptitude to learn a multi-layered recreation software application.
  • Strong general math skills with cash handling experience highly desired.
  • Accuracy and the ability to follow through on detailed work is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to shift between tasks.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the capacity to act calmly and effectively under pressure or in difficult situations.
  • Must be a self-starter who is dependable, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capacity to project a professional appearance and maintain confidential information.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certified, or able to obtain when provided by the GEPD.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Nice To Haves

  • High School graduate or equivalent is preferred with some college or similar training and experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Providing quality customer service to anyone who enters the building or calls the office seeking information or assistance.
  • Frequent interaction with the public and park district staff to promote programs and services.
  • Perform program registration transactions.
  • Reserve rooms.
  • Prepare and process mail.
  • Assist with clerical support for management staff.
  • Informing program participants of class cancellations or changes.
  • Handling and balancing cash and other POS transactions.
  • Typing and data entry.
  • Filing.
  • Maintaining confidential information.
  • Assisting with special events.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
