As part of the Landmark Funeral Group, this position supports our operating partner, Slater Funeral Service, where this role will be based and contribute day-to-day. This position is the first point of contact for the families we serve. The Front Desk Coordinator sets the tone for each interaction by demonstrating communication, kindness, respect for human dignity, hospitality, and compassion. This role blends front desk reception, hospitality, and light administrative coordination. We are seeking someone who naturally asks, “What is the most I can do?” and approaches every task with professionalism and care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort with computer systems and data entry
  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism in sensitive situations
  • Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 yrs prior receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet every visitor with warmth, professionalism, and empathy
  • Answer and route calls with clarity and courtesy
  • Maintain a calm, welcoming environment for families and guests
  • Anticipate needs and provide thoughtful hospitality support during services and meetings
  • Serve as a communication hub between families and funeral home staff
  • Accurately relay messages and ensure timely follow-up
  • Maintain visitor logs and front office organization
  • Support scheduling and service-related coordination as needed
  • Enter and maintain accurate information in funeral home management software
  • Assist with document preparation and file organization
  • Receive and distribute mail and packages
  • Receive payments and document in management software
  • Maintain office supply levels and front desk materials
  • Uphold confidentiality and respect for sensitive information
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance
