About The Position

The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis, dedicated to promoting and developing its growth from local communities to professional levels like the US Open. The organization is a passionate team committed to making tennis accessible to all by removing barriers and creating opportunities. The Front Desk Attendant role involves providing excellent customer service, welcoming and assisting players and patrons with court time, program/event placement, and registrations. Key responsibilities include handling POS transactions, assigning courts using a computerized reservation system, adhering to ITC policies, and supporting the Programs department with initiatives like PACES and Tour program development, site visits, school outreach, and website updates. The attendant will also manage phone inquiries, account for money transactions, operate court light panels, monitor court usage, and maintain patron profiles.

  • Possess computer skills.
  • Must have weekend and evening availability.
  • Project a professional company image at all times.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced, stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Practice excellent customer service standards at all times while welcome and greet all players, students, and patrons.
  • Assist all guests with court time and proper program/event placement.
  • Responsible for all POS transactions and receipts.
  • Assign courts to players for open time, donated courts, private & group lessons in computerized reservation system as well as assisting patrons with program registrations and program offerings.
  • Follow all ITC policies and procedures for court bookings, program registrations and site access to courts and grounds.
  • Assist Program’s department with the development and implementation of the PACES and Tour program including but not limited to; coordination of the site visits and school outreach.
  • Work in conjunction with the program’s department to ensure that all classes are uploaded to the NTC website in a timely manner as defined by the Sr. Business Manager.
  • Assist in answering general phone inquiries regarding reservations, prices & information and program offerings.
  • Properly account for any money transactions during shift.
  • Operate light panels for indoor / outdoor courts and monitor usage.
  • Monitor court to ensure players are adhering to their scheduled time.
  • Update patron profiles timely and accurately.
  • Other duties as assigned by Front Desk Supervisor and Sr. Business Manager.
  • US Open duties as assigned.
