About The Position

Miami Lakes Athletic Club is a 48,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility offering a wide variety of exercise and workout equipment suitable for any level of athleticism. Located in the beautiful Miami Lakes, Florida, we have proudly served as one of South Florida’s premier fitness and wellness centers since 1982. Our dedicated staff is committed to improving the quality of life of our members and the greater Miami Lakes community. As a Front Desk Attendant, you serve as the first point of contact and the face of the Miami Lakes Athletic Club. You are responsible for providing an exceptional member experience by professionally registering and checking in members and guests, ensuring a warm welcome, accurate check-in, and a safe and welcoming environment at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Clear, professional, and courteous verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to properly operate fitness equipment as needed.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software systems to perform data entry, process information, and set up functions.
  • Solid basic math skills for handling transactions and solving routine numerical problems.
  • Ability to work independently, follow through on assignments, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a dynamic work environment with changing priorities, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word and Outlook); willingness to learn Club-specific software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain accurate, organized records.
  • Skill in reviewing, compiling, and organizing documents and forms for efficient processing and retrieval.
  • Strong comprehension and communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and organize work for timely, accurate completion.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks in a high-volume environment with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality; consistently adheres to designated work schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests warmly; accurately register and check in all visitors to ensure security and a positive first impression.
  • Handle opening and closing procedures of the Club according to established protocols.
  • Consistently practice and uphold Raving Fans service standards in every member and guest interaction.
  • Monitor the Club for safety hazards; address and report concerns immediately to maintain a safe environment.
  • Operate the Club’s software system (CSI) accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Club programs, events, and offerings; register members and process payments accordingly.
  • Manage pro-shop merchandise sales, including accurate transactions and inventory tracking.
  • Answer member and staff inquiries; actively promote Club events and programs in a friendly, informed manner.
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally, maintaining Raving Fan service standards in all communications.
  • Conduct periodic locker room checks to ensure cleanliness, upkeep, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Process and deposit daily cash receipts accurately.
  • Attend monthly Team Meetings and contribute positively to team culture and communication.
  • Maintain and track inventory, including pro-shop items, food & beverage, and towels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
