About The Position

This role is part of a comprehensive training program within the Rooms Division, focusing on front desk operations. The program is structured into several rotations, including an initial orientation to the company and local community, followed by an extensive hands-on training period in front desk procedures, guest services, and operational management. The goal is to equip the trainee with all the necessary skills to excel in various roles within the hotel industry, culminating in a supervisory and management-level understanding of operations.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry
  • OR possess a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA)
  • OR possess 5 years of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
  • Demonstrated consistent career growth over the last years
  • Demonstrated serious commitment to most recent employers

Responsibilities

  • Learn front desk computer system
  • Execute check-in and check-out procedures
  • Promote Preferred Guest Program and Forbes Travel Guide standards
  • Perform cashier responsibilities, including maintaining a house bank and making daily deposits and accurate reports of receipts
  • Manage group arrivals procedures, guest room assignment, and control
  • Implement walk over procedures
  • Monitor hourly house counts
  • Execute sell-out controls
  • Manage room key controls
  • Utilize room upselling techniques
  • Resolve guest concerns
  • Review Trip Advisor and Medallia Reports to identify trends
  • Oversee front desk agents
  • Handle walk over procedures

  • Perform front desk manager duties and responsibilities such as yield management, forecasts, scheduling and staffing processes, and daily management meetings
  • Analyze, develop, and maintain quality standards using a continuous improvement approach for high quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused operations
  • Manage the daily operations of the department and ensure adherence to standards
  • Ensure operational functions are consistent with the department’s strategic plan and vision for the division and the company
  • Maintain a high level of service by constantly training and coaching all staff
  • Inspect and oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all function space
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the highest level of product delivery
