About The Position

The Courtyard Denver Downtown is looking for a Front Desk Agent to join their team. This role requires no prior experience, only a positive attitude. The hotel offers an environment focused on learning and development, with a team that is described as unconventional, approachable, and down-to-earth. The hotel is located in a historic and boutique setting, within walking distance of downtown Denver's attractions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required.
  • High school graduate level mathematical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of computerized cash register systems.
  • Past experience in dealing directly with the public.
  • General knowledge of basic customer service skills.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful situations.
  • Highly organized and able to pay attention to details.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to read written communiques and monochrome computer screen.
  • Ability to operate computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
  • Ability to work on more than one task at a time.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • 90% of shift is standing.
  • Repeated bending and kneeling required while filing.
  • Must be able to reach all areas of the hotel to assist clients.
  • Occasional standing.
  • Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guest inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide accurate and timely information and services to arriving, departing, and in-house guests.
  • Handle telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.
  • Complete check-in procedures for arriving guests using manual and computerized methods.
  • Facilitate guest departure (check-out) procedures.
  • Calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts, and credit transactions accurately.
  • Answer inquiries and accept reservations, both in person and by telephone, using suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions.
  • Operate PBX equipment, including accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling wake-up calls, and paging guests.
  • Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain responsibility for the hotel bank.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
