About The Position

We are looking for associates who are smart, authentic, creative, and independent. The Front Desk Agent will respond professionally and courteously to guests, providing accurate information and services. This role involves handling telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High school graduate level mathematical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of computerized cash register systems.
  • Past experience in dealing directly with the public.
  • General knowledge of basic customer service skills.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful situations.
  • Highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to read written communiques and monochrome computer screen.
  • Ability to operate computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
  • Ability to work on more than one task at a time.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and completes check-in procedures for arriving guests daily, using manual and computerized methods.
  • Facilitates guest departure (check-out) daily by following established procedures to close guest accounts.
  • Calculates and posts monies, receipts, guest accounts, and other forms of credit using proper cash handling methods.
  • Answers inquiries and accepts reservations in person and by telephone, communicating hotel rates and information accurately.
  • Maintains good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions.
  • Operates PBX equipment, including accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling wake-up calls, and paging guests.
  • Controls cash transactions at the front desk and maintains responsibility for the hotel bank.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
