About The Position

The front desk agent is an integral role in the success and level of hospitality we provide to our guests at the St. James. You are often the first person a guest encounters when they arrive as well as the last person they encounter as they leave their vacation behind. Your guest/customer service skills are of the utmost importance and will be vital in determining your success in this job.

Requirements

  • Keep the desk area neat and clean at all times
  • Fill out various log books, each is important for tracking purposes. Please do so properly and efficiently.
  • Read and follow through on anything in the Red Book Daily Log, always remember to initial each shift you work.
  • Attend to housekeeping reports and bucket checks, be sure each is up to date and correct at all times.
  • Run reports (arrivals, departures, in-house, etc…)
  • Orchestrate with maintenance and housekeeping at all times.
  • File paperwork when needed
  • Prepare “Welcome Packets”
  • Count cash drawer and beginning and end of each shift
  • Fill out deposit slips and envelopes when taking money, always be sure to leave a note in the Front Desk Managers box when cash is taken in
  • Attend to coffee station, circle, lobby and St. James room hourly and sign log

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a courteous and professional manner (Remember to smile, make eye contact and show that you enjoy your job!)
  • Check-in & check-out guests, obtain all pertinent information from each guest.
  • Attend to the guests needs in regards to giving directions, referring the concierge, calling village transportation, etc…
  • Answer telephones, answer questions or direct call to person who can
  • Have a general knowledge of the Vail Valley and the Beaver Creek Village to be able to direct guests around the area.
  • Have knowledge of the parking here at the St. James and Beaver Creek, be able to direct guests and vendors to the appropriate garage/lot.
