About The Position

This position manages hotel front desk duties, including check-ins and guest requests, during the night shift (approximately 11 PM - 7 AM). It also involves crucial accounting and reporting tasks, such as balancing daily transactions, verifying guest accounts, and preparing financial and operational reports for management. Additional duties may include processing laundry. The role aims to create a genuinely memorable experience for guests, acting as a brand ambassador and a trusted contact for all guest needs, from bill issues to local knowledge. The position requires adherence to safety procedures and a professional appearance.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts across a 7-day period, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • Good communication skills; easy to talk to.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in the local language.
  • Literate and tech-savvy, with a good grasp of reading, writing, basic math, and computers.
  • High school diploma or qualification.
  • At least one year of experience in a front desk or guest service position.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs (23 kg), which may involve bending and kneeling.

Responsibilities

  • Check-in/check-out hotel guests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process all payments per established procedures.
  • Process laundry.
  • Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests.
  • Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities, and provide information to improve their stay.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions.
  • Record and act on guest preferences.
  • Handle guest messages, requests, questions, and concerns.
  • Assist guests with issues such as bill discrepancies and provide local information.
  • Report all incidents and wear protective gear as needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as a brand ambassador.
  • Stay informed about the day's schedule of events and activities.
  • Assist colleagues with ad-hoc duties when needed.
  • Perform accounting and reporting tasks, including balancing daily transactions, verifying guest accounts, and preparing financial/operational reports.
