About The Position

Embassy Suites is seeking a Front Desk Agent to join their team. This role involves greeting and assisting guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling payments, and ensuring a positive guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, enjoy teamwork, and be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. The position requires the ability to work in a standard office environment, with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work, as well as occasional standing and walking. Key responsibilities include accurate cash handling, managing reservations, and having a thorough knowledge of hotel rates and procedures.

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset

Nice To Haves

  • Complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often.
  • Knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each.
  • Working knowledge of reservations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel.
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary.
  • Promptly, accurately and efficiently post all charges.
  • Manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly.
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly.
  • Take same day reservations in approximately 2 minutes.
  • Follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary.
