About The Position

The Front Desk Agent will greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel. This role involves assisting in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary. The agent will be responsible for promptly, accurately, and efficiently posting all charges, and will have complete working knowledge of the Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions. Accurate cash handling, including receiving cash, checks, and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly, is essential. The agent will also review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly. A thorough understanding of hotel rates, discounts, and how to handle each is required. Additionally, the agent must have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including the ability to take same-day reservations in approximately 2 minutes, and know and follow cancellation and relocation procedures when necessary.

Requirements

  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset
  • Someone who enjoys working as and being part of a team that provides great experiences for our Guests!
