About The Position

The Ricks Center for Gifted Children at the University of Denver is seeking one or more non-benefited French instructors to teach elementary and middle school students French. This position involves lesson planning, instruction, assessment, maintaining classroom order and safety, and communication with families and colleagues. The role is Monday – Friday between 8:15 am – 12:30 pm on full-day student contact days during the 2026-2027 school year, with an estimated 10-18 hours per week. This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching French.
  • Must be proficient with software and devices that support instruction.
  • Good classroom management, for students ages 8 - 12.
  • Highly reliable and consistent with attendance and performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in the French language and a teaching license.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two sections of elementary French including lesson planning, instruction, and assessment, Grades 3 – 8.
  • Maintain classroom order and safety.
  • Communicate with families and collaborate with colleagues.
