About The Position

The French American School of Denver (FASDenver) is a French Immersion, multicultural learning community dedicated to providing an academically rigorous, culturally enriching environment where students are empowered to become critical thinkers, global citizens, and lifelong learners. Our K–5 program emphasizes language immersion, creativity, and high expectations for academic and personal growth. Our faculty and staff collaborate closely to support each student’s development in both French and English, through a curriculum that includes core academics, music, arts, physical education, and character development to nurture the whole child. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Nice To Haves

• B.A. or higher in education, child development, or a related field.
• Prior experience in a bilingual, immersion, or international school setting.
• Understanding of child development and/or early literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction in a French Immersion classroom (K–5) under the direction of the lead teacher.
• Model and encourage the use of spoken and written French throughout the school day.
• Assist with small group and/or one-on-one instruction in both academic and enrichment settings.
• Help prepare classroom materials and organize learning activities.
• Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, and school events.
• Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate that supports all learners.
• Reinforce behavioral expectations and school norms positively and consistently.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet individual student needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families (in French or English as appropriate).
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development sessions.
• Must be able to work with all learners in a fast paced, school setting
• Work with all students as assigned to best support supervision and instruction
• Be flexible in schedules and duties assigned
• Support supervision and instruction
