About The Position

The Freight Invoice Clerk is responsible for the accurate processing, review, and reconciliation of domestic, drayage, and ocean freight invoices. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external carriers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate payments.

Responsibilities

Process domestic, drayage, and ocean freight invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure all invoices align with internal system records before approval.
Review invoices carefully to confirm accuracy, pricing, and compliance with agreed terms.
Investigate and challenge any discrepancies or additional charges with the appropriate parties.
Dispute invoices with carriers when billing does not match internal system data.
Manage multiple shared inboxes (domestic, drayage, and ocean freight).
Respond to carrier inquiries promptly and professionally.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with carriers regarding invoice status and discrepancies.
Review Statements of Account (SOA) from carriers to ensure all invoices are accounted for and properly processed.
Process only invoices that match system records, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Escalate issues as needed to ensure resolution and compliance with company policies.
Support team members and assist with additional tasks as needed.
Contribute to a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.
