About The Position

Gordon Food Service is seeking a Freight Hauler for their Distribution Center in Imperial, PA. This role is crucial for supporting the warehouse team by removing products from docks and trailers, staging them for receiving and storage, and using a powered industrial vehicle (PIV) to move products. The position involves inspecting products for damage, ensuring proper scanning for inventory, and maintaining a clean work environment. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Must have good customer service and time management skills.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience preferred, but not required.
  • High School / Equivalent Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Removes product from docks or trailers and stages for receiving or storage.
  • Transfers product from frozen and dry receiving docks and stages in various warehouse areas.
  • Communicates dock capacity and finished pallet readiness with the person (Freight Handler or driver) who is doing the sorting and segregating of the load.
  • Communicates with the Putaway/Replenishment Operators on aisle capacity balancing with available movement of finished product from the Receiving dock.
  • Ensures pallet quality and type is up to standard.
  • Ensures all products are secured on the pallets.
  • Ensures proper scanning of each pallet move in the handheld.
  • Removes product from trucks with a power ox or standup docker hilo.
  • Keeps product organized on the dock according to which truck or door from which it is removed.
  • Communicates with the person (lumper or driver) who is doing the sorting and segregating of the load.
  • Inspects product for concealed or regular damage.
  • Communicates with the checker on load issues.
  • Completes Load Inspection forms.
  • Assists lumper/driver with product ti/hi issues.
  • Completes housekeeping activities on a daily basis.
  • Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
  • Perceives auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns.
