About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a part-time Freight Handler at its distribution center at 4980 Gateway Blvd. in Springfield, Ohio. The role supports warehouse order processing by safely removing product pallets from trailers and breaking down product into the correct pallet configurations. The Freight Handler separates inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, accounts for damaged product so it is not received into sale inventory, and checks pallet structural integrity. No prior experience is required; training is provided.

The schedule is Sunday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Starting pay is $18.60, with potential performance incentives and bonuses. The position is eligible for a $145 weekly bonus when the employee works at least five hours on at least two days of the work week. The employer states that benefits plans start on day one and also lists weekly pay, wellness reimbursement, and profit sharing and a 401(k) with company match.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Be able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions, from -25°F to 100°F.
• Be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
