Freelance Writer - Rental Market Content (Part-Time)
About The Position
Zumper is seeking a mid-level freelance writer to develop city guides and rental market content for their top 25 rental markets. This is a part-time contract position, expected to last up to 18 weeks, with a commitment of 16-20 hours per week. The role focuses on creating local, helpful content that assists renters in understanding specific locations and their rental markets, going beyond data rewriting to provide context for informed decisions. The content will include page copy for city guides and localized editorial blog posts. The work is expected to be 100% human-written.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional writing experience (or equivalent freelance experience).
- Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret data and research and turn it into clear, engaging copy.
- Ability to write within an established voice while keeping content fresh.
- Available 16–20 hours/week through the end of the year.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with local, real estate, consumer, or SEO content.
- UX copywriting experience.
Responsibilities
- Review provided rental data for each market.
- Write page copy for each market's city guide that complements its data and charts.
- Research and write highly localized editorial blog posts (approximately 3 per market).
- Ensure all content is human-written.
