About The Position

The Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County is seeking a Fraud Prevention Specialist to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity of state and federal early childhood funding by identifying, preventing, investigating, and reducing fraudulent activity. The Fraud Prevention Specialist will protect ELC funds from waste, abuse, and intentional misrepresentation, contributing to the organization's mission of providing high-quality, affordable early learning programs and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Finance or Early Care and Education or a related field.
  • Two-years of related experience and/or training in data verification, benefit processing, or auditing.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with data entry, reporting and document management.
  • Familiarity with childcare subsidy structures or Head Start funding rules.

Responsibilities

  • Review cases, claims, applications, payments, or transactions for signs of fraud.
  • Identify suspicious patterns, inconsistencies, or policy violations.
  • Conduct investigations and gathering supporting documentation.
  • Working with internal departments, law enforcement, vendors, or regulatory agencies when needed.
  • Maintaining detailed case records and preparing reports.
  • Developing and improving fraud prevention procedures and controls.
  • Monitoring compliance with policies, regulations, and security requirements.
